The optimal tumeric dose for managing pain is around 500-2000 mg. This dose may differ according to the pain, but it is best taken in supplement form with a high curcumin concentration. 

Different studies have shown different results. According to one study, around 500-1000 mg of turmeric taken twice daily for three months is effective in managing pain caused by osteoarthritis. Another study shows that taking around 500 mg of turmeric thrice daily for 3 months can effectively manage pain caused by itchy skin.

Turmeric contains a plant chemical called Curcumin, which has powerful anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties. Curcumin is mainly for soothing the pain caused by these conditions.

  • Around 3-4 cloves (pre-soaked for a minimum of 60 minutes) 
  • Half a teaspoon of baking soda.

Turmeric can be used for tendonitis, as tendonitis is mainly caused by acute inflammation of a tendon which may be due to old age, overworking, or a physical injury.
