The study found that daily consumption of 500 ml yogurt fortified with probiotics for 8 days improved various gut stability parameters and helped maintain colonic microflora.

Does Bifidobacterium Longum affect histamine?

Bifidobacterium Longum decreases the level of histamine. It also helps reduce inflammatory response after a meal and leaky gut syndrome by decreasing intestinal permeability. 

Studies also show that consumption of B. Longum and other probiotics can help decrease the allergic effect by suppressing histamine signaling. The study further adds that B. Another study confirms the above findings that B. Longum can inhibit the growth of candida by producing anti-microbial metabolites. The research also adds that the inhibitory activity was driven by the release of fermentation acids which led to a drop in pH. The research concludes that altering the gut microbiome by consuming probiotics can improve resistance against candida in the gut.
