- Decreases the symptoms of IBS: Studies show that Bifidobacterium Bifidum can lower the symptoms of IBS. In a trial involving 120 patients, researchers supplemented 60 people with B.Bifidum while the rest received a placebo. The 47% of the supplementation group reported a significant decrease in the symptoms as compared to the placebo group.
- May improve Immunity: A study indicates that Bifidobacterium Bifidum may improve and modulate immunity. The study suggests that the probiotic stimulates innate immune mechanisms by activating white blood cells to defend against infection.
- Skin conditions in the newborn: A trial suggests that consumption of B.Bifidum and other probiotics by pregnant women decreased the occurrence of eczema in newborns.
